Running applications

Graphical applications

Many applications are designed to run from a desktop. KDE2 is the default desktop for the LKP. See ``Preparing to use KDE2''.

Though you can run applications from a desktop, it is not strictly necessary. If you invoke a graphical application from the command line, the application can run in a window in the existing UnixWare 7 environment.
