Scope of application compatibility

• A system with the LKP installed can run UnixWare 7 applications and most Linux applications.

• Most Linux applications that can run on a Caldera OpenLinux system, can run on the LKP.

• Regarding Linux drivers and administrative tools:

  • native Linux device drivers do not run in a LKP environment, but many have UnixWare 7 equivalents. UDI drivers will work in either environment.

  • some administrative Linux commands and utilities will work in the LKP environment, but most system administration must be performed from UnixWare 7

  • Unless noted otherwise, most Linux daemons will work, but their use is not recommended
