We selected the applications listed here because they provide business-critical functionality, and represent a wide span of the different kinds of processing required by Linux programs. This is, of course, only a partial list of applications that can run in the LKP environment.
Information about installing, configuring and running applications is provided in the following sections. The examples given here are the result of our initial experience installing a product, usually in its simplist configuration. This information is in no way intended to contradict or supersede vendor's product documentation. Generally, we recommend that you satisfy LKP prerequisites, and then follow the product documentation that comes with the software you want to use.
