StarOffice

StarOffice is provided with some Linux distributions. To order or download, visit the Sun Microsystems web site, click on the version you want, and then choose the platform (Linux x86 only) and Language. You might be asked to register.

Prerequisites

StarOffice 5.2 installation succeeds only if /tmp is sufficiently large. If your installation fails because of lack of /tmp space, see ``Resizing /tmp''.

Starting StarOffice

StarOffice installs an icon under KDE, but the LKP uses KDE2. You can start StarOffice from the command line by typing:

   office52/soffice
